Leo is a boy that lives in a desert community near Phoenix, Arizona.  He learned about a new girl in school whose name was Stargirl.  At first she seemed to be somewhat crazy, but it didn’t take long for her style and actions to become popular with many of the kids at Mica High.  For awhile, Stargirl seems to gain popularity but things change after the "newness" of her thinking wears off.  Leo and Stargirl become much closer and grow fond of each other.  But, soon, Leo is challenged with a decision.

Stargirl is a book that makes you take a look about how our society sometimes shuns individuality.  There are some life lessons in the book that can be learned from both Leo and Stargirl.
